the family behind serendipity
our story
mother, son, and two cups of coffee.
it started in 2024 as a dream between two friends, who decided — quite by chance — that sri lanka was where they'd open a guesthouse and café together.
serendipity – finding somethingwonderful without looking for it.
that's where the name comes from. it's also where the rooms get theirs — each one named after a place the two of them once travelled to together.
today, Samira carries that dream forward with a new little co-host by her side: her son, Nio. mornings mean nio babbling over breakfast before the first guests arrive, evenings mean tucking him in just as the garden lights flicker on. the house feels fuller now — filled with love, a family grown even closer, and a small teacher reminding her daily what serendipity always meant: just be.
